Questions

You ask, we answer.

Do they actually take the deposit?

The deposit is a sum the rental company holds on your card at the desk, as a guarantee, then releases when you return the car. How long it takes to get it back depends on the rental company and your bank: up to 30 days under Hertz's terms, usually three weeks according to DiscoverCars. Most hold it without charging it; some charge it and then refund it, like Hertz Corse in Ajaccio (terms collected on 28/09/2026). Its amount is shown on every offer.

What if my flight is delayed?

Enter your flight number when you book: the rental company then knows what time you arrive. How long it waits for you, and at what price after closing time, depends on the rental company and the branch: it's written in the offer's terms, to read before you pay.

Can I cancel?

It depends on the offer. Those marked "free cancellation" are refunded if you cancel within the deadline shown on the offer; the others may keep all or part of the price. You cancel with the partner that took your booking.

I don't have a credit card, only a debit card.

Some rental companies accept it, others don't, and the rule can change from one branch to another. In Ajaccio, Hertz Corse and Sixt accept a debit card (not Electron, Maestro, prepaid or virtual cards), Enterprise and Alamo refuse it (checked on 28/09/2026). On 037 DRIVE, choose "without a credit card": you'll only see the offers that accept it.

What's the excess?

The excess is what you still have to pay if the car is damaged or stolen, even when insured. It isn't the deposit: the deposit is held in advance, the excess is only due if there's a claim. In Ajaccio, with basic protection, rental companies set it at between €1,400 and €10,000 depending on the company and the category; paid options reduce it, down to €350 at ADA or €0 at Sixt for some categories (checked on 28/09/2026). It's shown on every offer.

Can the price change at the desk?

The total shown includes the hire, taxes and the stated mileage. What can be added at the desk: the extras you take on the spot (additional driver, child seat, extra insurance), fuel if the car isn't returned as agreed, and some fees specific to the rental company. If there's damage, the excess is still yours to pay.

Where do I book?

With our partner, DiscoverCars or EconomyBookings, on their page. They take the payment, issue your booking and handle cancellation. 037 DRIVE compares and sends you there.

How does 037 DRIVE make money?

The partner pays us a commission when you book through our link. Your price is the same as booking with them directly: €0 in fees from us.

I'm under 25.

Under 25, most rental companies charge a young driver surcharge, and some set a minimum age. In Ajaccio, Enterprise, Alamo and Sixt rent from age 18, Hertz Corse from 21, and the surcharge ranges from €32.60 to €55 per day depending on the company (checked on 28/09/2026). On 037 DRIVE, choose "under 25": you only see the rental companies that accept you, surcharge included in the total.

Can I return the car somewhere else?

Yes, if the rental company offers it: it's a one-way rental, often charged extra. These fees are included in the total we show. In Corsica, some rental companies don't allow you to return the car off the island: at Hertz Corse, the car must be returned in Corsica (checked on 28/09/2026). On 037 DRIVE, tap "to the same place" in your search and choose another location.
